Philosophy
Mark’s philosophy is all about creating more beauty. To achieve this he has invented a code:
MH = (beauty)³, ‘the art of beautiful design’
The code is a total approach formula, created to unlock more from art and design. Meticulously applied, it reveals the hidden magic from combining artistic vision, unique innovation and commercial feasibility with immaculate standards. Seamlessly delivering sculptural objects and room installations of timeless beauty, each and every time.
By using his philosophy code, MH = (beauty)³ ‘the art of beautiful design’, Mark has created a 6 sided theory of beauty (function, form, motion, material, finish and light). This is represented by the MH spinning metallic cube. The 6 sides of Mark’s theory are explained below:
- FUNCTION = (uses + partnerships)³ - where objects or space interact to create multiple functions whilst maintaining their artistic beauty.
- FORM = (aesthetic + proportion)³ - where shapes combine, using quality details, creating practical installations.
- MOTION = (transformation + movement)³ - where things change shape, size and configuration eg spin, swivel, flip, fold etc to give more space.
- MATERIAL = (natural + synthetic)³ - where materials combine such as stone, leather, wood, glass, metal, textiles, carbon fibre, composites, plastics etc to enhance the style and durability.
- FINISH = (colour + decoration)³ - where finishes are decorated by graphics, scenes, murals, patterns etc and colour is created by lacquer, glaze/pigment, gesso and textures such as polished, honed, rivan etc to give an elegant appearance.
- LIGHT = (ambience + environment)³ - where light diffuses, reflects and refracts to create different atmospheres and moods with shadows, tones etc.
